Title: Aussie Brass Monkey Long Weekend
Post by: Matthewf/Norbert/TuiDog on June 27, 2012, 09:38:23 AM
Each year www.jetboatingaustralia.com runs a winter Brass Monkey Run down at the NSW/VIC border amongst the snowy mountains and boat the local rivers which form part of the Hydro Scheme.

Its a great long weekend (up to 4 days for some). Launching friday 24th August at Walwa NSW.
We often have jet boaters from around the country and NZ attending. Its bitterly cold, but the rivers are gin clear, the scenery awesome and pub atmosphere a great laugh.

We have 12 boats and the odd Kiwi confirmed so far.

If you want to join us please contact me, accom details in PDF attached below
Matthew

it will be cold

Well my tickets have been paid for and I'm on my way.
I'm looking forward to catching up with Tuiman and all the NSW regulars for a couple of days.
Then spending a couple of days in Sydney with Matthew.
I encourage any Aussies to consider making the pilgrimage for this weekend.
Come by yourselves or bring the boat. I think Matthew said there were about 10 to 15 boats so there should be some spare seats. That sounds great!!  *-)

What a fantastic week, was great to put a face to everyones name, I did ask how did Goose got his nick name.....Matt said just wait 5 minutes ( he was right, its now very clear)  some fantastic boating and fantastic people, I believe I was lucky with the weather as it wasn't too cold. temp only hit zero once on the tip to the hotel after leaving Tumat. Thanks to Matt for the pick and delivery and everything in between. to Steelo....I am still laughing, I have spent several units in laughter telling the family about our adventure, I will follow up with a story from my point of view for the magazines.
I was lucky not to get the girls blouse award..taken out by Matt, for not giving a courtesy flush after using a the ladies toilets.. I will sort out some pics and post.

Dear NSW Jet boaters. You can see what a great time was had by all during the last Brass Monkey Weekend.
The summer version of the event is on THIS weekend.
I've been in contact with Matthew and he tells me that only a small but select group will be assembled.
I've bought my ticket and will be jetting into Sydney on Thursday morning to meet up with Tuidog for the trip down to Tumut.
If you had any thoughts at all about making the trip, jetboating in crystal clear waters, learning some skills and meeting other Ozzie Jetboaters, PLEASE contact Matthew and he can send you a flyer. I understand, accommodation is still available.
It's always a great weekend.
Cheers
