Thankyou Southland for putting on great day  b> Organisers battled pretty miserable conditions on Friday to set up a great competition, and were rewarded with a beautiful sunny and warm day on Sat. Tim and I enjoyed the day, and the river was in good condition for an outing. Two of the events were a bit too physically challenging for my navigator Tim, but we persevered  ;D and then I screwed up right royally in the out and return  C"" Brain fade and I took the wrong channel, bashed through a willow and got back onto track, and then stupidly tried to correct my mistake  >:( Got stuck. Very stuck  C"" Thankyou for the help received and I'm really sorry for wetting you Garth. Then I had the nozzle up and blew the water over the top of the skittles, and being a bit slow, I did that twice before waking up  O)))) So we had a great day, with a good lunch turned on for us. Didn't score too well, but still got a prize, for oldest competitor  b> We can vouch for the food in Winton, Bottom Pub on Friday night was terrific, and the steak at the Top Pub after prize giving was top notch. Congratulations to Fraser Morrison for winning Best Presented Boat, with a 31 year old boat  b>
Picture 4 shows the collection of Oreti River stones that are now making friends with stones from all over Otago and Canterbury outside the workshop door  O)))) In spite of the amount of bottom sucking I did, there is only about 3 ml of sand in the bottom of sand-trap!!
