Title: Vale - Terry Gilligan
Post by: Paul Mullan on April 26, 2020, 09:12:13 AM
We have lost one our earliest jet boaters when long time JBNZ Southland member Terry Gilligan slipped away peacefully aged 90 at the Waikiwi Gardens Rest Home in Invercargill where he had been for the past eleven months. Our condolences are extended to his wife of 62 years, Kathlyn and daughter and son-in-law Penny and Lindsay.

Terry joined the New Zealand Jet Boat Association in 1966 in the year Southland became the first branch of the national organisation. He served on the committee from Spring of 1968 and severed as Chairman for two years from 1974 before continuing on the committee for a nearly twelve years.

Terry was awarded an Honorary Life Member of Jet Boating New Zealand in recognition of his service to jet boating.
