Have booked my accomadation at the Holiday Park. May have a spare seat as my Dad is not sure if he'll make it.

Cheers Tony, there are now 16 boats confirmed for the trip so should be good (hope I boat a bit better over there than I did on the new members run last Sunday, stuck 4 times, probably thought I was the new boater  ;D ;D ;D ;D)

i'm aiming for leaving chch around 8am once wife & kids are ready........so probably lunchtime

but weather forecast is sounding bad so will reassess later today as it's not much fun with cold wet passengers

Well Easter is just about here :o :o :o and its getting close to fun time ;D ;D ;D, hope everyones geared up and rearin to go.  The weathers not lookin great at the moment but its suppose to be OK on the coast so fingers crossed. Im leaving on Fri about 7.30am, Ill be getting on the West Coast road from the Waimak Gorge so may see yous on the road. Drive safely and watch out for those chaps in brightly coloured cars who hand out slips of paper and tell you to have a good day (it really made my day NOT$$$), they seem to love people who are towing trailers. Have you heard the latest road report. May need chopper to lift boats over the pass. They say chains and no towing.!!!!!!!!! I plan to leave Fri am 8.30 ish Brent is already on the coast coming from Wanaka today.

Arthurs Pass closed to towing vehicles :( I will be leaving in the morning around 7.30ish I hope they have the road open by then

Actual forcast for the coast over the weekend doesn't look to bad. Probably as good as anywhere. Don't know what the rivers will be doing but they do go up and down pretty quick over there.

Just heard a radio report on More FM re: road condotions, Lewis Pass chains needed, Arthurs Pass was 4WD with chains only but somone called up and they are now turning traffic back :( :( :( so like Fritz we will have to stay home and watch Coronation St ;D ;D ;D
