Another great weekend with a best ever turn out for the 20th anniversery,48 boats.great to see so many boats from all over the SI.Saturday was held on the Waitangitoana which is a small spring fed creek which at times resembled riccarton rd at 5 on a friday with traffic everywhere.10 tasks to do, 5 up river, lunch and then 5 down.split into two groups. every one managed to get through by dark (just).Glen Monk (hoki) took out the day with a penalty free run.2nd jock from whataroa, 3rd Angus Chisholm (sp).well done
Saturday night at the Whataroa hall,booze and a band prize giving and a feed,,,,,cant remember what order a great night had by all.
Sunday saw a few showers coming through which may have put a few off for the sprint on a course on the Whataroa river.The usual hardy souls were there to brave the elements and hangovers and was eventually taken out by Jeff Friend in a workman over the other 27 or so other entrants.all in all a great weekend and a GREAT BIG THANKYOU to the oranisers and the south westland jetboat club.
