Dart River - labour weekend or following weekend
« on: October 15, 2010, 14:19:29 PM »
I'm going to be in Q'town for labour weekend  and the weekend after......I'm  keen for a trip up the dart (but haven't done it before)......... so preferably with or following someone thats been there before would be ideal......so if theres anyone thinking about a trip that wouldn't mind a tag along....please give me a yell/text/call/email....0274896158 or [email protected]

Alternatively i was planning on going to the screening of the expedition documentry at the events centre and thought that might be a good excuse for a bit of gravel rash and a few laughs the next day.....

Righto, Im in. Might be a few boats(ers) keen. Post a time to meet/depart up river. Ill put the bbq in me boat and will have a cook up at the Rockburn if we can get in or find another spot further up stream if the river is low.
Allow plenty of time to make sure you explore everything. Approx 45km each way + PLAY TIMES  OoOoO OoOoO

Going to the top and play time + push times, I think I normally put around 3 hours on the clock and time inbetween.
I would say start boating no later than 11 to be back in QT by 5 or 6. Big day!

Had a good run up to the top last saturday, 98km round trip back to the ramp on the GPS, couldnt get into the Rockburn bugger it all, but some great boating up the top amongst ther rocks, river not as clear as normal, strong westerly wind made a big dust storm down in the lower braids, river was flowing at about 40 cumics
