Attention Wanganui Jet Boat Owners
« on: February 08, 2013, 10:56:35 AM »
Is it just me or do you think we have bugger all organised trips? Hands up those who would like to take part in some more trips, be it the Whanganui or Rangitikei rivers or lake Rotorangi etc ideas welcome. Back when I used to have my old boat I was up and down the Rangitikei nearly every second weekend with Shaun aka Tuicraft. Those fullas down south seem to be always boating and posting their activities on the board. Plus it would be good to meet some like minded people and boating by myself I limited how far I will go in case of a breakdown. So register you interest. And if you are considering a trip perhaps post it on here so others might like to tag along. Hope to get out for a hoon this weekend (Whanganui River)  B))T

Awesome day on the river, only passed one boat going up. Plus a couple of egg beaters! Tied up next to the original jet boat, a 30 odd foot tunnel river boat the Wairua. Rotary group were there carrying out maintenance on the facilities. The place looked great, could see a camping trip coming up soon  ;D
Boat went mint

Camping trip at morrisons bush this weekend- was heaps of fun last year,
I'm hoping to drag out my old boat,
Or come down on sunday for the run up the river- should be a bit of a challenge with the low water flow

Yep flat bottom tunnel and a winch on the front to get up the rapids. Not that it's used anymore, that boat probably used to go all the way to Taumarunui back in the early 1900's.

15th, 16th and 17th I think, turn up Friday evening to camp, fun events on the Saturday and a run up to Gladstone on the Sunday. You turn off just after Greytown if you are heading south.
