Wairua is totally flat bottom and worked Pipiriki to Whakahoro. As noted, its the orginal jet. I spent a cool weekend being a deckhand. Gotta get a jetn to go explouring more. Ps Hipango makes a great place to stop over..... cou

Was a good day, boat behaved for once, after Saturdays little mishap with a tree, went up as far as the first set of rapids and decided to call it a day, I've never seen the Wanganui so low. Used 40 litres of juice.

Yup, apparantly the tour boat operator based in Pipiriki, Ken I think his name is, has called it quits for the rest of the summer as the levels are so low, some people I know about half way up the river road can walk from one side to the other.

the whanganui to low, not where we are in Pipiriki, still running 20 seaters to the BTN daily, just starting to get good boating, ive seen it alot lower than this over the years, most of the years its like driving on a lake for us, sorry farmers, but this drought is awesome for some operators.

Below Pip it is, I've boated it for a few years, last weekend we got about 500 metres short of the first little rapid after Hipango Park and it was less than half a metre deep, every single rock wall was totally uncovered and pretty much high and dry, up above Pip may be the go at the moment. My mistake Ken, I got told you had stopped running at the mo, obviously not the case.
