Urenui one day Uplifting
« on: June 28, 2016, 16:55:00 PM »
Woohoo… the Taranaki JBNZ Committee has obtained a temporary uplifting for this river on Saturday the 9th of July. We believe this to be the first time it can be legally boated. The plan is to push up as far as we can go, until we are stopped by logs, a low bridge or some other obstacle. The uplifting allows for up to 25 km of boating, but conditions on the day will determine how far we get. This looks like a great river for smaller boats, but don't be put off by that, we will boat as far as each boater is comfortable.  We thank Maritime NZ for granting us this temporary uplifting, there are strict rules for this river run.

Always someone having a winge ay. Look at the damage a big flood does to the river banks of the Urenui. A few jetboats arent going to do anything.

Was a great day out. 16 boats of all shapes and sizes turned up.  b> b> b>
Some of the bigger boats found the creek a little tight.
