JBNZ NELSON-MARLBOROUGH BRANCH
INANGAHUA & BULLER RIVERS RUN SUNDAY 23 JULY 2017
[/b]

This run is planned for the Inangahua River but will be flow dependent.  It is better suited to small boats so we are encouraging larger boats to run the Buller and we will split in to two groups if there are sufficient starters for both rivers.

Launching will be at Whitecliffs just a couple of kilometres towards Westport from the Greymouth/Westport turnoff at the south end of Inangahua Junction.  There is an access track directly off the Highway opposite a large green ‘A’ frame house that leads onto a launching beach.

This run is open to all JBNZ members and we welcome any West Coast Branch members who we have also invited by separate email.

Please be at launch site for 10am tech inspection and briefing.

We aim to have everyone launched by 10.30am and to be off the river mid-afternoon.

All boats to meet JBNZ Safety specs as per Year Book.

$10 entry fee per boat.

Winter boating so remember to bring warm gear.

Please contact the organiser if you will be attending so we have an idea of numbers.

Hope to see another good turn out and some of our newer members attending.

Hope you have a great run, Excellent boating rivers,
But why limit it to Jbnz members only, get some non members to join in and show them how we enjoy ourselves, they may even join us. As for charging members for a run (as opposed to an event with setup costs) on an open river that has no cost to the branch, that's what I thought my subs covered, I'd love to hear the concept behind it. Never charged for river runs we've organised in the past. Never been charged to join my car club runs or cruising club sailing trips either.

I wanna know also. The otago branch allows anyone to come have fun And  that defiantly encourages people to join, I got 2 mates to join by getting them to come have a look. I think some of the groups need too loosen up a lil and encourage people along. And yea if theres a $10 fee is should be stated that it goes toward something eg heratage trust or lunch. It cost alot to go on any jetboat trip and another $10 on a open river is a bit clicky.
