2005 World Jet Boat Marathon

The River Racing web site has been updated with the updated course on it. If your planing on heading down for a look you may want to check it out  http://www.nzjbrra.co.nz  I'm told there will also be regular updates through out the event with news, placings etc posted on the nzjbrra site. I would think there may be news posted on this site as well.

Moods is down in Queenstown now, they went down to pre-boat the course but now they cant I guess they will be sitting in a bar somewhere for the next two days. I hope they leave some Speights for us ;D

Has pre boating been banned?
That might even things up a bit, those who GPS them before hand will have to look do it the old fashioned way.  ;D

Lock-Down Required. Clark, Tony and Matthew on way. Expect carnage, they are posing as World Jet Boat Marathon spectators, but have other more sinister objectives...

tui dog and silver fox are currently racing a Jag X type V12 around bathurst, silver fox is on rev limiter down conrod and tui dog has been rubbing paint with a mustang GT... because "'rubbin is race'n"    ;D

GOLDRIDGE HOTEL 2005 WORLD JET BOAT MARATHON
COURSE DETAILS - Last Updated 12 October 2005

DAY ONE - Saturday 15th October 2005
11.00 a.m. Tech inspection/Boat show to be held at Queenstown Events Centre, State Highway 6
2.00 p.m. Driver/Navigator meeting ? Team Managers Meeting - All officials briefing
? Biosecurity NZ to brief on didymo
? Regional Services on cleaning of boats
7.00 p.m. Roll call and welcome for all competitors

DAY TWO - Sunday 16th October 2005 - Queenstown Bay, Kawarau River - Shotover River.
Leg One - Start Queenstown Bay to McGregor?s Pit ? Shotover River Briefing at Frankton Marina 8.00 a.m. Start 9 a.m.
Boats to be in groups of up to 6, at five minute intervals 20km
All boats to be cleaned with Simply Green including trailers, and bath provided for footwear and clothing

Leg Two - Waitaki Rivers. Kurow to State Highway 1 Bridge. Briefing 3.00pm Start 3.30pm 66km .

DAY THREE - Monday 17th October 2005 - Waitaki Rivers.
Leg Three - State Highway 1 bridge to Kurow. Briefing at bridge 10.00 a.m. Start 11.00 a.m. 66km

Leg Four - Kurow to State Highway 1 bridge. Briefing 1.30 p.m. Start 2.30 p.m. 66km
All boats to be cleaned with Simple Green including trailers, and a bath provided for footwear and clothing.

DAY FOUR - Tuesday 18th October 2005 - Matukituki River.
Leg Five - Matukituki Mouth to training works. Briefing 9.00 a.m. Start 9.30 a.m. 35km

Leg Six - Training works to Matukituki Mouth, Briefing 11.00 a.m. Start 11.30 a.m. 35km

Leg Seven - Matukituki Mouth to training works. Briefing 1.00p.m. Start 1.30 p.m. 35km

Leg Eight - Training works to Matukituki Mouth, Briefing 3.00pm. Start 3.30 p.m. 35km
All boats to be cleaned with Simply Green including trailers, and bath provided for footwear and clothing. Finish after lake run.

DAY FIVE - Wednesday 19th October 2005
LAY DAY Boat drop 6.00pm Frankton Arm Tavern. There will be briefing and roll call in Queenstown at 7.00 p.m. Venue to be Gold Ridge Hotel

DAY SIX - Thursday 20th October 2005 - Glenorchy - Dart Rivers.
Leg Nine - Glenorchy to Beansburn. Briefing Glenorchy boat ramp 8.00a.m. Start 8.30a.m. 40km

Leg Ten - Beansburn to Glenorchy. Briefing Beansburn after river has been cleared approx 9.30.a.m. Start 30 minutes after river is cleared. 40km

Leg Eleven - Glenorchy to Beansburn. Briefing Glenorchy boat ramp 12 noon. Start 12.30p.m. 40km

Leg Twelve - Beansburn to Glenorchy. Briefing Beansburn after river has been cleared approx 1.45p.m. Start 30 minutes after river is cleared. 40km
All boats to be cleaned with Simply Green including trailers, and bath provided for footwear and clothing.

DAY SEVEN - Friday 21st October 2005 - Mataura Rivers (1 minute intervals)
Leg Thirteen - Gore to Ardlussa. Briefing 8.30 a.m - Starts 9.00 a.m. 56km

Leg Fourteen - Mataura ? Ardlussa to Gore. Briefing Ardlussa Bridge 11.30a.m. Start 12.00noon 56km

Leg Fifteen - Gore to Ardlussa. Briefing 2.30p.m. Start 3.00p.m. 56km

Leg Sixteen - Ardlussa to Gore. Briefing 5.00p.m. Start 5.30p.m. 56km
All boats to be cleaned with Simply Green including trailers, and bath provided for footwear and clothing.

DAY EIGHT - Saturday 22nd October 2005 - Balclutha/Wakatipu/Shotover River
Leg Seventeen - Balclutha to Roxburgh. Briefing 8.00am. Start 8.30am 92km.
Waves of 6, 2 minute intervals.
All boats to be cleaned with Simply Green including trailers, and bath provided for footwear and clothing. ( Boats must not be started until in at least 5 metres of water).

Leg Eighteen - Queenstown Bay to Edith Cavell Bridge. Briefing Queenstown Bay 1.00p.m. Start 1.45 pm. 28km

Leg Nineteen - Edith Cavell Bridge to Queenstown Bay. Briefing 3.00 p.m. Start 3.30p.m. 28km

Approximately 890km in total.
