Mrs Fritz here-

Sounds like the boys did OK - finished both legs today - if you were watching the TV3 news you'd have seen the Fritz Jeep & boat being cleaned down. Also on TV1 news the 'wobbly' boat coming out of a corner & drenching the camera crew - that was the boys - "making a meal of it" I think was the comment!

Rumour has it that a rather hefty speeding ticket was issued on the way down to Queestown on Friday night!

just got back to christchurch after watching marathon start and 2nd day.  awsome boating and perfect weather.

tony737 and myself missed out being run over by an out of control boat by about 2 feet!! the boat then struck kx500 and chased down a few more people. no one badly hurt, some scary photos and video will follow...

saw moods and fritz racing in their boats... both are doing well, although in fritz's boat the steering wheel fell off!!!! :o whilst aaron was driving on the down leg today :o  that would have been scary.

Looking at the dent on the fuel gauge they probably need a nurse.

I see you got a photo of the boat that miss you tony and mowed me down B122, My leg and hip has massive black bruises but a check up at the medical center confirmed nothing broken which was good.  Looking at the video I got he looked like he over turned  or his steering failed and then it shows him hitting the bank and then all you see is ground and sky and then I get taken out.
Very lucky as the point of the boat caught the side of my hip and ripped my jeans and the side of the hull ran down my leg before stopping another boat lenght past me.

My jeans and wife $3000!!!! Japanese video camera were damaged and it looks like the camera is a write of as you can't use all the features other just play back the tape.

The southland times newspaper has a good photo of people running for cover taken by someone just in front of me!

Well at the end of the day the only thing that dissapointed me was the drivers never check to see who was hurt, they just got
the boat back in the water and took off. There were alot of other people that were pissed off about that more than me as life is more important than a few points on a score board.

At least I am still alive and kicking and thats the main think ;)
