JBA Hurunui family run this sunday the 15th

The JBA Canterbury branch Family run is planned for this Sunday the 15th. Launching under the main north road bridge state highway 1. Departing 10-30. It is winter so dress appropriately. Bring fuel for approx 3 hours boating. All welcome. For postponements call the infoline 0800jetfun (0800538386) Sunday morning.

Another great trip? my first time boating this river and some of the best boating I have done. Thanks to the organsiers for an awesome day out.
The day started out not so good for some with this little fella eating somebodies lunch before we even launched!

After lunch 5 boats went upstream to the gorge. These photo's dont really do it justice... awesome boating!

possibly a few relieved drivers at the turn around point, as Ted casually mentions 5 minutes further up to the shute's where 30 boats have been sunk!

Great photo's Clark. Looks like you had some fun. I see the Hurunui kept up its record of damaging trim plates under jet units. I've never been through the upper gorge. Looks like a fun place to take my wee boat (not). How much further is it from the Balmoral Bridge? What was the lower gorge like? Did you have to boat under the tree or has the river course changed?
