The black strip is carbonumbrimum can't spell it but its the same stuff as on sand paper. You by it at george henry in town about 60 grit will do. You mix it in with the last coats of resin with a bit of filler beed and it works great at warding of the rocks. I just need to get the glass under it to stick. I have ended up grinding 90% of the hull out down the centre due to de lam but It should mean a much better job than my last effort.

Sorry to hear theres so much damage. Sounds like a good idea for better abrasion resistance when following Mike. ;D WHEN! me hull gets dinged up Ill look at mixing carbo. in there, especially either side of the bisalloy plate. Owning a glass hull is like having a part time job!!  :) :)

Can fix glass at home but can't fix ali at present. I must admit I would rather be welding than grinding glass any day.

Talking with Fritz at the pub, on the way back from Gore bay, one idea that was sugested was to cut the deck off and make an alloy hull, the same shape. With help from a mate with a tig welder, ;) shouldent be too expensive. $2000 maybe?? A long term plan though.
