What do you guys reckon about having a "other half and rug rats" day on the Waimak? Or is it not a good time of the year?
If we could pick a nice sunny day could base ourselves on the river for a BBQ etc, maybe a bit less of the rock hopping and our best halfs could have a drive too?

What a great idea.
Give us a few weeks though so I can get back from holiday and get the boat back together.

I think it is a great idea but I wonder if it wouldn't be better left untill the summer? My wife would probably feel more comfortable on a lake rather than the river and there is more for the family to do. The younger kids can play around the edges and the older ones could swim or get towed around on the biscuit and everybody could have a go at skiing. If we went somewhere like lake Taylor or Loch Katrine it would be a great day trip with a picnic or BBQ lunch. What do you think?

Sounds good Fritz... i may even be able to bring my boat!
In the short term sounds like a few are keen to do a Mid-winter one on the river. We'll organise something for when CJ and myself gets back from Holiday... probably August some time.

We should do this regularly, infact me and family and a couple of others did this during the winter last year. We launched further up the Mak away from the crowds, was a cloudy day but we all, including the rug rats had whole lotta fun, we got wet then dry, then out and got wet again, then dry,
