I have heard back from the guys at Orakei Korako.

They have vacancies over Queens Birthday Weekend!!! (3-5th June) (nothing else available in June.)

ACCOMMODATION:

Accommodation consists of a Lodge with 18 rooms. The rooms have bunk beds, supplied with Mattress (remaining bedding to be supplied by guest). Duvets & sheets can be hired at a cost of $15 per person. The room?s range from 2 berth bunk beds up to 6 berths.
A communal kitchen, lounge, BBQ area, 3 hot tubs, separate men?s and ladies ablutions are all provided within the Lodge complex. In the kitchen there are 3 Stoves,  pots and pans, fridges, freezer and an outside walk in Chiller. No cutlery or crockery is supplied in the lodge, this can be hired at a cost of $15 per person with an additional charge of $15 if it is not returned complete and cleaned.
Hired cutlery & crockery will be supplied with detergent and tea towels. No dish washing detergent or tea towels will be supplied in the lodge.
On site catering for functions is available.
Three self-contained Tourist Flats are also available, 2 sleeps up to 6 persons, 1 sleeps 7. Each flat has one double bed plus singles, bathroom, kitchenette, fridge, crockery and cutlery. Duvets & sheets can be hired at a cost of $15 per person, $20 for 2 people in the double bed.
NO PETS ALLOWED
Pricing:
From October to the end of April (referred to as the season), weekend bookings will include both Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday nights, so if you wish to stay for only one of these nights, please be aware that charges will apply for 2 nights. Long weekends will include a third night. Full room rates will apply as outlined below.

Weekends & Public Holidays (Season as above)
Lodge-    2 Berth Room     $50 per night    
      4 Berth Room    $100 per night
      5 Berth Room   $125 per night
      6 Berth Room $150 per night   
Tourist Flats-   Sleeps 6       $150 per night
 Sleeps 7    $175 per night
Weekdays & Off  Season
   Lodge- $20 per person per night. Under 2 year?s free.
Tourist Flats- $80 minimum charge up to 4 persons per night then $20 per extra person per night up to a maximum of 6 or 7 depending on which unit.
   Under 2 year?s free.

Booking & Deposits:
When making a booking the first nights tariff is required as a Deposit (Non Refundable) within 7 days. If the deposit is not received within this time the booking will be cancelled.
Group Bookings will be the responsibility of the person who makes the booking, rooms left vacant will still be charged for at the full rate applicable on the day.
Please be aware failure to notify of a cancellation will put future reservations at risk.
Late Cancellations will incur the full cost of accommodation if these cannot be filled.
Pricing Valid from 1st of August 2003 through 1st of October 2005.

I was waiting to see how much interest was generated ,then was going to throw a bulk booking in.

Only problem is how long to wait...Too long and we'd likely miss out.

It is probably best if you book yourselves to m ake sure you can get in.
