Title: xplorn's allrounder
Post by: xplorn on December 14, 2008, 23:54:14 PM
well a bit late and slow i know but heres some pics of my hartz allrounder 99 vintage with a p76 and 2 stage 772 with 750 shaft .
I bought it off a mate who built it after sinking his colt in the hurunui ,him and i had done some grouse trip in both boats including the 2001 whitewater trip up the clarence.
i had afew coil issues when i got it (dec 07) and only did 1 good run up the rakaia gorge but smelt fuel allday so the move was made to refurb the whole boat :o just 2 months i thought ??? ::) C"" YEAH RITE! pig so 10 months later its wet *-) jaw

Making the studs to tie the unit together today $12.50 for the 5/16 stainless rod and a thread cutting die and you can save heaps of 2c . just make sure you grind/file a good chamfer/leed in  on the end to help start the die cutting. these studs can cost up to $30 each so its worth the effort ;D

Yeah I've used the Little Metals company, they are good to deal with b>, wouldn't bother going back to Mico wakefield they used to be pretty good it's all most like they don't want cash sale customers anymore.

Ok it's been nearly 5 years or maybe more since this boat was on the water! I had a new bottom put in by Bruce and the lads at The jetboat base and a superb job too. Whilst out I decided to regrind the cam to 330hp spec as it was flat as. However! Earthquakes, demoed house, new jobs and growing up kids, I shelved this project , but now it's time!! So I'm going to finally finish and galv the trailer , repaint the hull in cool white, make new floors, paint the motor, and fit a full width rear seat . I am keen to look at fitting a new Flopro unit too as I believe they are a magnificent adventure/family jet unit that provides great value for money and very low maintainence due to their very good wear qualities. Also I can better match blades to suit my engine rather than faffing around with what I have already. I will upload pics as I go so stay tuned! pop

Hi Lads, yes 50 bucks is how it looks now!! I have to say a big thanks to Paul Sweeney at Flopro for letting it sit on his back lawn for so long!! Though now he will have less of a talking point with people now that it's gone  l-l cou
I can't wait to get it back up the gorge .

I will start on the trailer and actually complete that before getting to carried away with the boat itself as last time once the boat was finished I just never got back to the completion of it. There is a method to the madness they say  :o ::)

Paul, I haven't seen any pic's of if on the plane yet so it's maybe only a lake launch and not a proper jet boat
