Title: New small boat build
Post by: 555 on May 14, 2009, 21:16:40 PM
Nothing better to do over the winter months so why not build a new boat. In conjunction with a good mate I have decided to build another small boat.

Specs;
3.6m Long
Variable deadrise as per the last one I built
752 jet unit
Nissan 3ltr twin turbo engine

Alloy is all bent and my off sider has made the steering helm.

Pics to follow

Don't worry Ken I still have the Ford powered boat. And yes I am building the hull my self. Along the same lines as the last one that XSPWR brought and put the lexus in.

Next on the list of things to do is fit motor and unit. Any body know of a cheap water to air intercooler setup for a twin turbo?

Hi I looked around for an intercooler and 2 into 1 collector for my twin turbo project but stuffs pretty scarce or pricey >:(. I ended up making my own from an air to air cooler and boxing a water jacket around it.  Also made one new end tank with twin inlet pipes. Hope it works as I havn't finished the boat yet.
Cost me $140 all up. Heres a pic.

Bit more progress. Screen finished, Unit dummy mounted and motor mounts made. Boat is off to the auto sparkies this week to see if he can make sense of all the wiring.  fl.

Well after the boat sitting doing nothing for months due to work comments by both myself and Craig we have finally got it in the water. First launch was a bit of a nothing with the thing porposing badly and the motor stopping on us but with 2D down trim and a crank angle something plug reconnected what a difference. Only problem now is the blades seem to be to small when it comes on boost so in go the bigger blades and lets see what happens. 11.5ft and 300hp lets go boating. Photos to come.
