well what a fantastic day out.A few pushes to be had, a few more for ken, and then a Tow after Ken ran out of gas about 1k from trailer, we did a good 5+ hrs boating. New boat is fantastic seems to draw less water than the old boat and the bizalloy is a very big plus making easier to push and skip across the stones.

I have some short vids I will upload.
we went from Martinborough to gladstone then up the Waiohene a bit past road bridge and up a side stream creek ;D we found a place where they had been doing flood protection and had a load of mounds of gravel in river so it was rude not to race around the islands, in Kens case race onto the islands ;D ;D

Awesome day out, boated through about 80 litres of gas, weather  b> after a storm the day before and the river was great with  neat channels and a gravel play pit , water still warm even wading up sidestreams to get Shaun into deeper water. His new boat was much easier to push than the old boat though  ;D  The bisalloy really helps to stop the hull sticking just like the Keelowcraft !! Planing strakes on our boat have I feel made a big difference to the handling, sharper steering and quicker to plane. Our Keelowcraft went like a dream all day except for running out of juice at the end. Quite a few stones to remove from the grill I notice . Where's grill boy when you need him  ;D
Got home in one piece too this time, no injuries, just the odd bruise. Finished off with a Tui after running out of gas and Shaun's wee 3.4 m boat had to tow our 4.8m back the last k to the trailers cos no Caltex stations beside the river  ;D Maybe take a 20 lt jerry can next time ?

Great day Shaun, only an hour's trip home. Pulled over on the Rimutuka hill to let a nice Porsche GT3 wizz past. Wonder how a flat 6 Porsche engine would go in a boat . All that fresh air and jetboating is a real tonic. The guys that didn't come along missed a magic day.  b>

My new nav was buzzing all day , didn't even mind pushing Shaun's boat  :o

Yep Skip one of the best days boating I've had over there .
The news is one of our fellow boaters over that way has a new secret weapon hopefully out next time, Attack Marine hull with supercharged power plant, so looks like I'll have to save up for the 383 stroker kit to go in the 308  ;D ;D plus instal a bigger gas tank  ;D . No I'll just leave the old girl as she is ,she goes great and not too stressed being stock std apart from the cam and (high torque starter motor which was one of the best modifications you can make) spins the motor over effortlessly, hot or cold .Got lots of learning to do in the driving department yet and making sure I have a camera handy to catch Shaun's indiscretions  ;D
