Title: How to get to the two halves of the transom into one piece in freeship 2.6
Post by: 2realbmx on August 11, 2017, 05:19:19 AM
Hey all from the Netherlands.
Great forums, great sport.
And not to forget, manny thanks for the great delftship tutorial topic ! B))T  !!

I would love to weld me an aluminium boat. To get started I want to weld an rc boat.

Anyway, my question is, how can I get both halves of parts like the transom and the deck in one piece in a dxf drawing.
When I export I end up with two parts. Two halves. I would to get one whole transom cut.

I have autocad 2007 but I haven't been able to make one part out of two.

The tutorial says to redraw in 2d cad, but I hope that's only because you can not export in delftship free.
In delftship paid you can export. But will that get you one whole trabsom / deck or also two halves ??

I'll add my .fbm and my dxf. and a dxf that I made from it tryibg to make it rady for cutting.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well I fixed pretty much all my problems.
Turns out that most of my problems where with this
"The control net works best when every point has four edges connected to it (three on open edges and centerline). "

I also got a bit better with autocad. I had just used the wrong commands.
I now have them as one whole part in dxf.

Attached my fbm file with the fixed control net.
