Is that the normal amount of 'backlash' on those couplings, or are there more rubber shims to go in?

Paul - it's only under extreme load that the outer rubber stops are used, under normal conditions it's the inner rubbers that do all the work.

Ahh, that explains it - I didn't even see the central ones - it just looked like darkness!

That's a cool setup, very precise alignment needed tho. The centre seems like not a lot of rubber to do a lot of work!
I'd never get that to fit nicely using my home engineering haha

They are actually pretty easy to line up Mike, just a set of feeler gauges required. Great in a lot of applications but have some limitations and I don't know if a plastic boat would be rigid enough?

Lock Downs great for those people with those projects that they haven't had enough push spending a lot of time out in the garage just a few updates been wired up and taken to the waimak boat ramp in run it up to see any leaks or overheating problems everything ok so after Lockdown I would say it be finished and then all I have to do is get it tuned fl. )1

All my hard work with the heater worked with aluminium for quite a few years I love working with it st aAe

Have done a lot of work leaning on Ted's boats talking to him at the same time he would be the most honest man I've ever known

functionally does the heater work all the time or can you switch it off and how...is it a little valve on the water lines or an electric fan? I might have to look at one for my boat in the future.
Title: Re: Another Rivercraft on it's way
Post by: prb on April 18, 2020, 09:42:11 AM
I just pull the heater core and the fan out of an existing car heater and re modified to make it smaller so yes it is electric fan
