Now that Gull have introduced a Ethanol Blend fuel in NZ, has anyone tried it?
What problems
could I have with a basic setup on a 350 Chev, ie Twin Hamilton tanks in the stern (regularly run dry so shouldn't have a buildup of water), water trap, mechanical fuel pump upto a 4 barrel holley?
I'll drain the water out of the water trap as I hear the new fuel soaks up water and my fuel lines have been replaced in the last 2 years.
I have a Navman fuel flow meter in the line which I remember we a bit fragile when they first came out, has anyone had any problems with these on the new fuel?

Ethanol mix may work well in a boat due to the fact it will soak up a bit of water. This would stop you taking a lung full of pure water thats been sitting at the bottom of your tank. It would work like adding meths to your fuel to soak up any water I guess.
We use to run methanol on an old race bike i had and it also absorbed water. The big thing to watch was that you needed to drain the float bowls on the carb if it was parked up for any time as the water content tended to root the carb out. This maybe an issue with the ethanol mix as well.
