This is good stuff (as I’m keen about the old stuff) & was interested when the web change was mooted that it mentioned creating a register. Couple of questions:
Will any body be keeping a separate database of hull, unit & motors serial numbers? Including previous ownership history? & something which could be added to by third parties as a particular boat is recognised etc., historical photos etc., perhaps developing a reference library rather than a string topic?
Also, I have contacted Hamiltons a couple of times and haven’t had much joy in finding out original history of some old stuff, but I do understand that someone there does have some of the old boat building record books which can be referenced by unit serial numbers – could this be something that Hamiltons as a site sponsor add to?
Cheers,

A project - has been progressing in the garage for a couple of years
Hamilton Jet 30mk1
Mk2 Zephyr engine
Chinook 2 stage
I’ve been told that this dates back to December 1960, and would seem to have been used in the Tekapo & South Canterbury areas, prior to my purchase
Pretty much in original condition, with exception of the seat & jet unit modification to have a bucket reverse (note the reverse handle which is the original floor mounted handle – relocated to through the central dash)
Currently completely stripped & slowly being restored.
Anybody out there with some history or early photo’s of this boat – I’d be keen to know more.
Cheers, Grant
