Ski Pole
« on: March 10, 2010, 17:04:32 PM »
Hey dudes

Just got my first boat, Jet 32. Wanting to make a ski pole, just wondering if anyone has pictures/info on there set up, mainly the mounting to the boat. I have a fair idea on how i want to go about it, just don't want to make any rookie mistakes...

Cheers

This is one that i was looking at but would be to high and would make the boat heal over to much with a body out the side... Try a short poll... Here is the pic... Cheers JR

I have done a fair bit of skiing with a 32.

Be aware, that with their low dead rise and absence of planing strakes (when in standard trim) the 32 is a very slippery boat. Any decent adult slalom skier has enough pull on an outside turn to steer you off course. If two or three do it to one side, 'skier steer' can be severe. To control that you should try and get your pole near the yaw axis of the boat  ( say around 1.5 m forward of transom).
