folks I would appreciate any suggestions on setting up a quadrajet. Mine on the whole runs great and is economical. When pulling a skier or fat dude on a biscuit from start it tends to bog as the air control flap on the secondaries opens too quickly. I have tensioned the spring on this as tight as possible. Yesterday I added a second spring to add more tension to the flap and now no bogging! If anyone has had similar probs please let me know what you did about it! cheers Tom

Quadrajets are still cool! No fuel surge because of small float chamber.
Secret is to keep fuel ABSOLUTELY clean.
Keep you eye out for junk carbies and look for the high performance needle nosed secondary metering rods.
These make quite a difference, but they're not all compatible with each other.
There's a good book on Rochesters by Doug Roe.

I'm digging up an old thread!
I've just put on a Rochester Quadrejet onto the Holden 308. Fired up okay, haven't taken it for a run yet.
Who can tune these bad boy's in chch? Can anyone give me a hand on the Waimak ramp?
There are screws and rods everywhere!!!

Okay, well after a month of research and 3 quadrajets pulled apart I now know exactly how these carbs work... they are great!
Been playing with metering rods, jet sizes, hangers and springs!! almost got it perfect.
So if anyone wants a hand with a rochester quadrajet, give me a buz.
