grandma,s recipe.   graphite powder , some army surplus eitch prime , mixed with spar varnish . this was used on the first alloy jetboats we built in the mid 60,,s    as they were slippery by design anyway .

Have been watching this with hand over mouth so here goes.... Roadmarking paint forget it when drys it gets brittle and will flake off... Paving paint is better but you still need to apply an etchprimer to make it stick.
Etch primer all the way... So here is the trick... Sand and clean the area with thinners, Apply a thin coat mix of etch primer and thinners 75% etch 25% thinners it will get messy and want to run down your brush so a small roller is the best.. Etch primer will dry very fast so by the time you get to the end, Where you started will be dry enough to start applying your mix.... Now the mix of grafite and etch is not rocket science...
There will be a bit of trial and error but start with a 50/50 mix.. If to thick you can thin it down with more etch or thinners....From a 1ltr tin you should get your first coat of etch and then 2 coats of 50/50 mix....
Shop around for your primer as not all etch primers are equal.... Hope this helps.... Cheers JR

I use paving paint and graphite on an etch base. Lasts as well as anything.

Graphite powder can be used as an agricultural lubricant - try farming shops, RD1 etc.  Blackboard paint can be bought all over the place, like Resene etc.

Hacky we are using John Deere graphite lubricant in a spray can TY25797 got it from Peel Valley Machinery in Tamworth, works really well, I should know I pushed Matthews boat heaps of times last weekend
