Thanks Otago, it was a good little trip, and the weather held off. Kayak course looked a bit daunting at first glance, when viewed from below. After inspection from the bank it turned out to be a piece of cake, and allowed a bit of enthusiastic play . I did let some of my crew walk up, as I had 4 adults and 3 kids on board, but they enjoyed the thrill coming down. Son in law walked down and got the photos at the bottom weir. The top weir about 100 meters upstream is smaller and a different shaped wave, but I managed to launch the old boat clear of the water on the way down Good fun, and another one ticked off the "bucket list".
