Convert a Colorado Crank and saddle reverse
« on: November 09, 2013, 17:23:10 PM »
Has anyone converted a Colorado unit to Crank and saddle style reverse mech like the 750/770 series?

I'm keen to run a tilt nozzle and ducted reverse bucket probably an Arco or Southern Jet. Thought if I can find or borrow a standard saddle or dimensions I would fabricate one out of stainless and make up the bushes etc.

Possible other option is to use a 770 tailpipe and or crank and saddle setup if someone has one they want to part with.

sort of,  I have a colorado stator and tailpipe on a 750 intake so the rev shaft through the transom was a given, then welded a fitting (ali tube) to the col tailpipe in the right spot for the shaft then fitted all the std rev saddle and fittings.  Aligning the bucket (std 770) also needed some fab work because the col tailpipe bucket mounts are a tiny bit lower but its all done and is as good as genuine 770.  Next time I have the guard off I'll take some pics. Should be in the next week or 2.    B))T

Thanks thats pretty much what I'm thinking. Trying to get my hands on a saddle or some dimensions as I'm going to make one too.
