As a teenager I loved jet boats and Mustangs - still do. In 1980 at the World Marathon I thought all my Christmases had come at once. A B class Alicraft jet boat with the ultimate Ford V8 - a genuine Boss 302 ci engine Ford built for the '69 Boss Mustang. I've never forgotten that boat or the name of the driver - so to learn today that Ted Hill has left us is a sad occasion for this jet boat / Mustang tragic. Our condolences from the Jet Boating NZ family are extended to his family. Details of the celebration of Ted's life follow and Ross Bailey will represent JBNZ.
HILL, Edward Francis (Ted). 24 August 1932 - 16 July 2021 On 16 July 2021 at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. Dearly loved and respected soul mate of Jean. Father to Douglas and Denise, Jane and Grant, Graeme and Alex, Michael and Lois. Wonderful and loving Grandad to ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by Lynne and Jude. Celebrations for Ted's life will be held at St Matthews Church, Hastings on Thursday 22 July 2021 at 1:30pm.A private cremation will follow. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses for their continued support. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cranford Hospice in tribute of Ted. Messages to the Hill family c/o P.O Box 8424, Havelock North.
