Calcium build up on heat exchanger, how do you remove it

Hi all
I just removed the copper heat exchanger to give it a clean.
It has calcium build-up, which I would like to remove; I was going to soak it in CLR but recommends not to use it on copper.
Is there anything else I can use.
Cheers in advance.

Try white vinegar, make a mild solution and leave it soaking for a bit. I lived in the UK for a while and they had really hard water in London, you could by a solution to clean your kettle and shower heads- vinegar wasn't ideal from a taste perspective but it will dissolve calcium.

Cheers, I've done a fair bit of research and found hydrochloric acid seems the best as it doesn't attack the copper, so I'm off to bunnings in five Min's to get the acid and distilled water.
