Top mount starter help

Hi Guys,
Ive got a chev (kodiak) bell housing, have made plate to attached it to my Honda 3.5l v6. Ive then purchased both a 168 tooth 14" flexplate and a top mount starter motor (800186, M09JA20B). When I put it all together, the starter motor isn't close enough to engage the flex plate. There doesn't look to be any adjustment in the starter motor or way it is mounted. Am I missing something simple before I pull it all apart and start again?

I just mounted a Subaru starter to mine and made the mount post height to suit, it can't be that hard can it? why use chev crap on quality engine? obviously not good as you already have issues it seems....

You have attached a Chev flex plate onto a Honda engine? And used a chev bellhousing (with an adapter) and starter motor as well?
Guessing the Honda crank to bellhousing offset is different to chev (all engines are different)
I just use a Honda k20/k24 flywheel on the v6 Hondas, bolts straight on. But you still need to make a custom starter mount.
