Jet Boating New Zealand National Rally
The Waitaki Branch looks forward to welcoming members to the 2027 Jet Boating New Zealand National Rally being held on the mighty Waitaki River, Saturday, February 6 2027. We will be based at Kurow Island - plenty of parking, established park setting and various advantageous viewing positions for spectators. Waitaki branch are keen to showcase rivers their region offers with proposed runs on the Dobson, Hopkins, Godley and Waitaki Rivers on Sunday 7 February and Monday 8 February 2027.
The Weekend Programme: Friday 5 February 2027 - Scrutineering. Compulsory scrutineering will take place at Kurow Island between 4pm and 7pm. This is compulsory. There will be no scrutineering on Rally day unless by prior arrangement. Saturday 6 February 2027 - Rally Day! Compulsory briefing - driver and crew at Kurow Island, 8am sharp. Verbal and written event instructions provided with Q & A First event commence - 9am sharp. Dinner and Prizegiving - TIME?? at the Otematata Hotel facilities, Kurow Sunday, 7 February 2027 Run up the WHERE??? Monday 8 February 2027 Run up the WHERE????
The Events. The organising committee has put together a variety of 10 events to challenge all levels of driver / crew and boat ability Traditional - 4 events with a mix of new and old favorites based around Kurow Island Slalom - 10 buoy course based on time and penalties. Out and return 12km searching for Code Word course Downstream - 10km searching for roadcones and code words -True Right side of River Upstream - 10km repeat of the Downstream - but on the True Left with different Code Words Skinny Course - challenging short leg in shallows - with support in attendance Navigational - small tight streams under bridge and Island - will be a highlight

Entry & Tickets Rally entry is $90 per driver/crew and includes entry to the 10 events, Saturday BBQ Breakfast and Lunch with all day tea, coffee and water. There is a free sausage sizzle for family, supporters and spectators. Prizegiving and Dinner tickets are $60 per adult and $20 per child - 11 years and under.
