Helmet Policy
Jet Boating NZ recommends the wearing of a helmet by all people in the boat
Refer to page 14 of the Annual Safety Handbook for JBNZ Helmet Usage Recommendations. Below are some examples of helmets being used by our Central District Branch members:

WRSI Current Pro Helmet
780 grams. ABS plastic with polyurethane sub shell. Removable Liner and ear coverings. No ventilation holes.

Gul ELITE Helmet
Designed for Sailing, Canoeing, Kayaking, White Water.
High impact ABS shell. Lightweight. Adjustable inner. Ventilation holes. Adjustable visor.

Bell Down Hill Mountain Bike Helmet
850 grams. Removeable Chin Bar. Adjustable visor, ventilation. MIPS.

FFM Commander Helmet
Polycarbonate shell. Vents. 1.15 kg. Double D-ring strap is not quick release. More like a motor cycle style helmet.

Giro Snow Ski Helmet
Lightweight 500 grams. Adjustable ventilation, MIPS.
Considerations:
A peak or visor is recommended for sun and weather protection. Kayak helmets often have a hard shell, but less padding underneath Bike and ski helmets often of a thinner shell, but more protection underneath. Open face helmets are generally quick and easy to get on and off, but do not offer any face protection.
